
Richard C. Becker, M.D. received his graduate degree in biochemistry and medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He took his internal medicine internship, residency, chief residency and hematology fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and his cardiovascular medicine fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where his established the Cardiovascular Thrombosis Research Center.
Dr. Becker is currently a Professor of Medicine and Director of the Cardiovascular Research Center, Anticoagulation Service and Coronary Care Unit at University of Massachusetts Medical School. He has published over 250 scientific papers, authored 5 textbooks including; The Textbook of Coronary Thrombosis and Thrombolysis and Cardiovascular Medicine Practice and Management and is the founding editor-in-chief of the Journal of Thrombosis and Thrombolysis.
Dr. Becker’s research interests include antithrombotic therapy drug development and endothelial cell-mediated vascular thromboresistance.
