Terry Field, M.P.H., D.Sc.


Terry Field is an epidemiologist and health services researcher with a particular interest in disability and the provision of care for the disabled and chronically ill. Dr. Field is the Associate Director of the Meyers Primary Care Institute and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. The impact of treatment for women with breast cancer is one focus of Dr. Field’s research. She was the principal investigator of a study of breast cancer survivors funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and is the co-principal investigator for two National Cancer Institute-funded research projects: Increasing Effectiveness of Cancer Control Interventions and Cancer Surveillance in HMO Administrative Data. Another focus of Dr. Field’s research is system - and patient-level risk factors for adverse drug events among elders in a variety of settings. She has served as the co-principal investigator on a series of studies of drug safety funded by the National Institute of Health and the Agency Healthcare Research and Quality.
