
Saul N. Weingart is an internist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Director of Patient Safety Research and Development in the Division of General Medicine, and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Weingart served as Medical Director of Patient Safety for CareGroup Healthcare System. He holds a doctorate in public policy from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and an MD degree from the University of Rochester. He completed an internal medicine residency and general medicine fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Weingart joined the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in September, 2004 as the Director of the expanded Center for Patient Safety.
Dr. Weingart’s research interests include the development of voluntary reporting systems for medical errors, patient and clinician participation in the prevention of adverse events in health care, and executive leadership in patient safety. He served as a member of the Harvard Executive Session on Medical Error and is co-chair and project director of the Minnesota Executive Session on Patient Safety.
